A nice book to read at Christmas time: Jara Bartzelonan

A NICE BOOK TO READ AT CHRISTMAS TIME

Jara Bartzelonan (Jara in Barcelona)

Last year we read “Jara Bartzelonan (Jara in Barcelona)”, a teenager novel written by Jasone Osoro. The plot was about a teenager girl who has to settle in a new city and make new friends and the setting is the city of Barcelona in the 21st century.

At the beginning, the main character, Jara, a Basque teenager, moved to Barcelona because her father found a job there. In her search for friends and popularity she started to do silly things such as drinking, not studying and so on.

Will she be the same Jara again or will she become a silly girl just for popularity?

In my opinion, the book is really hard and interesting.

A NICE BOOK TO READ AT CHRISTMAS TIME.

LEONARDO'S ENIGMAS

Last month we read the book Leonardo's Enigmas, a mistery novel written by Marisol Ortiz de Zárate.
The plot was about the search for freedom and the setting was the Medieval city of Amboise in France.
At the begining, the main characters, Isabel, the daughter of a rich moneylender, and Julius, the son of a poor copyist, looked for Leonardo Da Vinci to employ Julius as a helper. They found him at a fancy dress party and he asked them to solve three enigmas. That was when Isabel and Julius' adventures really began.
The book was very exiting and very interesting and you won't be able to stop reading it until the end of it. We really recommend you read it!

Describing Football

Come on, students in 1B class, write here your descriptions of the King of Sports!

Digital Books in the Classroom

Remember that we use the digital Student's Book and Workbook in the classroom every day, so Year 1 and Year 2 students do not really need to bring their Student's Book, where they can't actually write a word, to school. They just need their workbook
It's up to Year 3 and Year 4 students to bring theirs or not.

Agathon, A Greek Slave in Pompeii.

This is the book that Year 8 students in classes 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D have read this year.
They have also enjoyed doing the digital activities offered by Burlington Publishing House in the following link, which includes an executable file downloadable by anyone that we have installed in our classroom laptops.

Meet Me In Istanbul: A book to read and listen to.

This is the book that Year 11 students in class 4B have read this year. Bellow you will find the oral summaries of some chapters recorded by our students.
I also encourage you, 4B students, to publish a review of the book giving your opinion about it.
You can find some tips on how to write a good book review on the following link:

HEY BROTHER

Let's revise conditionals with this song!

Hey brother
There's an endless road to rediscover
Hey sister
Know the water's sweet
But blood is thicker
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey brother
Do you still believe in one another?
Hey sister
Do you still believe in love I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world
I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?
Oh brother, I will hear you call
What if I lose it all?
Oh sister, I will help you out
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world
I wouldn't do

Hey brother
There's an endless road to rediscover
Hey sister
Do you still believe in love I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world
I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?
Oh brother, I will hear you call
What if I lose it all?
Oh sister, I will help you out
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world
I wouldn't do

Avicii - Hey brother

LET'S LAUGH A BIT...

Let's laugh a bit with this video but let's also think of the dangers in the city.
